Refresh Dental began in 2021 as a passion project collaboration between Dr. Dietz and two other long time friends, Dr. Brandon Hedgecock and Dr. Max Kerr - both from Austin Texas. Together they wanted to help as many people as possible discover a life beyond sleep disordered breathing and make an impact here in Dr. Deitz's hometown.
Dr. Kristian Dietz received his dental degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University of Dentistry in 2009 after graduating from the University of Richmond. He has been practicing in Northwest Arkansas since 2014.
Dr. Dietz is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) and is a licensed provider of oral and IV sedation. He also holds both advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS) certifications.
His goal in sleep dentistry is to help as many people as possible realize the life changing effects of treating sleep disordered breathing, especially Sleep Apnea (OSA). He is married to his beautiful wife, Kait, who is also a dentist. Together they have 3 children.
When he is not in the office you can find Dr. Dietz coaching travel soccer, sailing, or enjoying the outdoors of NWA!

At Refresh Dental, we want you help you feel secure in your choice of treatment for Sleep Apnea.
Hundreds of Doctors from Austin to Bentonville trust their patients to our practices to use oral device therapy. Here in Bentonville we have got several notes from MDs about how well a device has worked for their patients.
Oral Device Therapy can be a very effective treatment for sleep apnea. In our office we see about 85% of patients be able to completely treat their sleep apnea with Oral Device Therapy alone. See our studies pages for more information.
Nope. Once you pay for whatever part is not covered by your insurance, there is nothing more to buy unless your device wears out or you want to get a new one.
Oral Devices don't work for folks with central sleep apnea, and they may not be a good fit if you have extremely sensitive teeth. Other than that, it is rare that we see a person who is contraindicated for an oral device.
Yes! Oral Devices are a great 2-for-1 for treating both Sleep Apnea and Bruxism (teeth grinding). Often, Oral Devices last even longer than grind guards because they may treat the underlying condition as well as the symptom.
We recommend a custom fit device for many reasons. The most important being that they are clinically proven to treat sleep apnea much more effectively. Also, custom fit oral devices are recognized as a clinical treatment for a disease. Think about it, you insurance won't cover an over the counter mouthguard- there's a reason. Finally, we see many more side effects and jaw discomfort in general for folks that use the over counter devices. You won't have a professional monitoring your care, or monitoring to see if that device is actually working for you. With a custom fit oral device from Refresh Dental, you'll KNOW whether or not your device is working for you.
Absolutely! Nearly all commercial medical insurances and Medicare have coverage for Oral Device Therapy. We will help you get the maximum benefit possible with your insurance.
We will send you home with a monitor you can wear while you are sleeping for your adjustment period to definitively tell if your device is working or not. We are the only sleep dentistry practice that actively checks your sleep data to make sure the device is actually working, and you'll be able to see the data for yourself.
We frequently see patients with Oral Devices that are effective for 5 years or more. Oral Devices come with a 3 year warranty if they break inside your mouth. That is all time you would have been buying hoses, masks, and filters for your CPAP!
That will depend completely on your insurance coverage. For most folks, they will spend far LESS on an Oral Device in 3-5 years than they would have on a CPAP, because with Oral Device there are no supplies to buy. Come in for a no cost consultation and we can show you exactly how affordable an Oral Device could be for you.
Yes! Once you get through the movement phase of Invisalign, and get to the retainer phase, and Oral Device will work just as well to hold your teeth in their beautiful new structure. Oral Devices even use the same scanning technology as Invisalign.
Yes! We deliver oral devices for folks with crowns, bridges, and implants everyday. Dr. Deitz will take care to make the device around your specifications and custom to you.
